Validity of a Statute cannot be challenged solely on the ground of violation of Basic Structure of the Constitution - Supreme Court

The Supreme Court in Anjum Kadari and another v. Union of India and others and connected matters has held that, the constitutional validity of a statute cannot be challenged for the violation of the basic structure of the Constitution. A statute can be struck down only for the violation of Part III or any other provision of the Constitution or for being without legislative competence.
